OVERVIEW:

This advanced woodworking course will expand on the skills taught in our Cabinetmaking workshop. Students will learn intricate joinery (mortise & tenon, French dovetail, half blind dovetail, and through dovetail) while building a tapered legged Shaker inspired end table of cherry lumber (materials provided). Emphasis will include the critical "truing up" of hardwood lumber using a jointer and thickness planer. Students will learn how to set up, adjust, and calibrate a variety of woodworking power and hand tools to the finer tolerances required for furniture work. Students will be able to take home their project.
