Curtis milton
Curtis Milton is a carpenter with some experience. A life-long learner, the dismantle and repurposing of an Illinois barn and corn crib into a restaurant interior in 1975 caused a slow shift from metal fabrication to timber frame carpentry. A change in geography provided access to modern timber framing as found in New England around 1982. Joining the emergent TFG allowed access to continuing education and skills development in a young industry struggling with a too-small skilled labor pool. Willingness to travel as an itinerant framer began to fill out a Journeyworker's skill set. Curtis has served on the Board of the TFG. He has taught at Heartwood, Guild conferences, workshops, community building projects, and more. A personal goal of making it easier for others to access the lessons learned is his motivation to teach when asked.
